Journella is designed to protect your privacy
Journella is a personal notes, tasks, calendar, and AI-assistant app designed around a warm, focused experience. This policy explains what information may be processed when you use Journella, why that processing happens, and the controls you have.
1. Overview
Journella brings together personal notes, tasks, events, search, and an AI assistant in one app experience. Based on the current codebase, the app includes notes, tasks, calendar views, global search, AI chat, optional voice input, Apple Calendar and Apple Reminders integration, optional account sign-in, and deep links into app content.

You can deny or revoke these permissions at any time in iOS Settings. Some features will stop working until access is granted again.
4. AI processing
Journella includes AI features and settings for both Local AI and Remote AI modes.
5. Storage and sync
Journella stores app information locally on device and is also built to support CloudKit-backed storage for notes, tasks, and events. If CloudKit-backed storage is unavailable, the app can fall back to a local-only store.
- Core productivity data such as notes, tasks, and events may be stored locally and synced through Apple’s CloudKit infrastructure where enabled.
- Imported Apple Calendar and Apple Reminders content may be mirrored locally so it can appear inside Journella.
- Authentication tokens are stored securely using the iOS Keychain.
6. Analytics and diagnostics
Journella contains analytics instrumentation for app opens, sessions, screen views, AI interactions, search activity, tutorial progress, voice input events, and Apple integration events. The current implementation logs analytics through Firebase Analytics when configured.
- Examples include app launches, screen visits, AI prompt submissions, AI response timing, search activity, and permission results.
- Analytics are used to understand feature usage, improve reliability, and measure product performance.
- Diagnostics and security protections may also be used to help prevent abuse and protect app services.

No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Still, Journella is designed to reduce unnecessary exposure and to keep feature access scoped to what is needed.
